Location: Remote

Long Term Contract

Description: An Application Architect specializing in Mainframe Modernization is an expert in mainframe technologies and modernization strategies.

They possess a deep understanding of various modernization approaches, such as in-place modernization and migration of mainframe applications to cloud platforms.

This professional is skilled in assessing mainframe client needs, defining strategies, and creating roadmaps for seamless mainframe modernization.

They are also adept at recommending and implementing appropriate tools and technologies to ensure a successful transition. In essence, an Application Architect in Mainframe Modernization is a key resource for organizations looking to maintain and enhance their mainframe systems while adapting to modern technological advancements.

BM z/OS Operating System

installation, configuration, customization, and upgrades.

JCL (Job Control Language)

creating, debugging, and optimizing batch jobs. System Utilities & Tools

ISPF, TSO, SDSF, REXX, CLIST. System Programming

SMP/E, PARMLIB customization, PROCLIB management. Subsystems Expertise (at least some of the following): JES2/JES3 (Job Entry Subsystems) RACF/ACF2/Top Secret (Security management) VTAM, TCP/IP (Networking) CICS, IMS, DB2 (middleware/database knowledge a plus) Storage Management

DFSMS, DFHSM, DASD, Tape management. Disaster Recovery/Backup

GDPS, SRDF, FlashCopy, replication tools.

Performance and Capacity Management

RMF, SMF, OMEGAMON, Mainview, or similar.

Automation Tools

NetView, Tivoli System Automation, OPS/MVS.
